Manuel Chacón was born in Santiago de Chile on November 9, 1933.
He studied architecture at the Catholic University of Santiago de Chile.

Through his many journeys, he acquired knowledge about architecture when travelling through Egypt, Greece, the Middle East, Italy, Austria, Germany, Holland, France, Britain, Spain and Portugal.

He was founder and designer of Art and Design and Galería St. Michel in Santiago, Chile (Manuel Chacon St.Michel and Designs) in Mexico City (Solaris, Honfleur and Sergio Bustamante Gallery), in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico (Galería Sergio Bustamante).
As a designer, he created the Honfleur Restaurant in Mexico City. Remodeled a house in Wassenaar near The Hague in Holland. Also created several metal domes, gates, doors for houses belonging to individuals and other architectural elements as well as iron and bronze used in Mexico City.

As an architect, he constructed in Chile and recently contributed to the design of the Hotel Plaza Santa Cruz in Chile, annex to the Museum of this city. In Mexico City, he remodeled two major houses of great importance in the Zona Rosa, the construction of a house in the Glorieta de Bosques de las Lomas front of the Fountain of Vassareli also, and among others, the design of a mud house in Malinalco, Edo. De Mex.
As an architect and restorer, he made a number of works at a home in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato and directed the restoration of a 1200s country house in Tuscany, Italy.

Important has been his dedication to the creation of furniture and artifacts which can be found in the houses in Mexico, South America, Europe and Japan.
